Ovarian Cystectomy

Ovarian Cystectomy Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can develop on the surface of the ovaries. They are very common, and many do not cause any symptoms. However, some cysts can rupture or cause pain. Your doctor may also want to check growths on your ovarians for cancer. To get a better look at ovarian cysts and to determine whether they are cancerous or require removal, your doctor will access the ovaries laparascopically (through tiny incisions using a camera) or with a larger abdominal incision (laparotomy). If the cysts require removal, the doctor will perform an ovarian cystectomy, surgically removing the cysts.

Myomectomy is surgery to remove uterine fibroids, noncancerous growths in the uterus. Myomectomy can be performed with an abdominal incision or through minimally invasive techniques. With laparoscopic myomectomy, the surgeon removes the tumor through several very small incisions in your abdomen.

We also offer da VinciĀ® Myomectomy, an extremely precise robot-assisted surgical technique. Your surgeon will perform the procedure through small incisions in your abdomen by controlling robotic components that allow him or her maximum precision, control and visibility.
