Menstrual Irregularities


A few years after the onset of menstruation, most women’s periods regulate to a cycle of between 21 and 35 days. However, as many as 14 per cent of women will experience menstrual irregularities, including irregular or infrequent periods, absent or minimal bleeding, excessive bleeding, or periods lasting longer than a week. Other menstrual irregularities include severe menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea) and spotting (bleeding between periods).
